October Brings Us No Tricks, Just Treats On Paramount Plus
From new thriller series to horror, documentaries, and original movies, October has more treats in store for us all on Paramount Plus.
This month’s new entertainment on Paramount Plus looks to be more than enough to keep us going through the entire spooky month of October. From psychological thrillers, true-life documentaries, original movies, and even Star Trek, there’s loads of fun stuff coming to the streaming service. Do you want some October chills? You’ve got it. Fancy some light entertainment? You’re covered. It is all here at your fingertips this month if you subscribe to the service. So, let’s take a look at what awaits us in October.
The box set drops on October 12th and contains four episodes of sixty minutes each. It is based on the hit psychological thriller novel of the same name. Tasha is living the dream: she has the perfect house, a loving husband, and a beautiful little girl. But there’s one large blot on Tasha’s marital landscape: her husband’s ex-wife won’t leave them alone and seems intent on staying in the picture. When Tasha returns home one day to find her life turned upside down, she realizes that the dream she is living may be about to turn into a nightmare.
‘The Ex-Wife’ is written by Downton Abbey star Catherine Steadman, who is also an executive producer on the series alongside Mike Benson, Giuliano Papadia, Chiara Cardoso, Olivia Pahl, Herbert Kloiber, and the novel’s author Jess Ryder. Andy Morgan is the producer and Brian O’Malley directs the series.
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN
The series premieres on October 8th with new episodes becoming available every Saturday. It contains ten episodes of sixty minutes each. Inspired by the original hit Swedish novel and film, the series centers on Mark (Demian Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), whose lives were changed ten years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a close-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.
With these emotionally charged and terrifying ingredients as a starting point, ‘Let The Right One In’ will upend genre expectations, turning a naturalistic lens on human frailty, strength, and compassion.
