Jon Hamm takes over the role of the investigative reporter in Paramount Pictures Confess, Fletch. Coming to UK cinemas in November.
It’s time to Confess, Fletch! In 1985, Chevy Chase took on the role of the character of Irwin M. “Fletch” Fletcher in the original ‘Fletch’ movie. Based on Gregory Mcdonald’s popular Fletch novels, the film was directed by Michael Ritchie to both critical and box office success. A sequel, titled ‘Fletch Lives’ followed in 1989. Chase and Ritchie returned once more but despite being a box office hit, the film gained negative reviews from critics. There has been talk of a third film or a reboot for years. Now, we have a new movie featuring the character.
Titled ‘Confess, Fletch’, the role is now played by Jon Hamm. Again based on one of Gregory McDonald’s novels, the 1976 book of the same name, the film will be in UK cinemas on November 18th. The official trailer and poster for the film have been released. Let’s investigate alongside Fletch once again:
In this delightful comedy romp, Jon Hamm stars as the roguishly charming and endlessly troublesome Fletch, who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case while searching for a stolen art collection. The only way to prove his innocence? Find out which of the long list of suspects is the culprit—from the eccentric art dealer and a missing playboy to a crazy neighbor and Fletch’s Italian girlfriend. Crime, in fact, has never been this disorganized.
CAST & CREW
The film is directed by Greg Mottola. The screenplay is written by Greg Mottola and Zev Borow. Alongside Jon Hamm in the lead role, the film stars Roy Wood Jr., Annie Mumolo, Ayden Mayeri, Lorenza Izzo, with Kyle MacLachlan and Marcia Gay Harden. It is the first Fletch film not to feature an appearance from Chevy Chase.
