Celebrating its 35th anniversary, John Hughes’ comedy classic, Planes, Trains, And Automobiles lands on 4K Ultra HD and a Zavvi Exclusive Steelbook this November.
1987 saw the release of what has come to be regarded as a true comedy classic movie. John Hughes brought to the world ‘Planes, Trains, And Automobiles.’ The film stared Steve Martin as Neal Page, a high-strung marketing executive, and John Candy as Del Griffith, a goodhearted but annoying salesman. In spite of their differences, they share a three-day odyssey of misadventures trying to get Neal home to Chicago in time for Thanksgiving Day dinner with his family.
Now, to celebrate its 35th anniversary, Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing the film in a 4K Ultra HD presentation. The online retailer Zavvi will also be releasing an exclusive Steelbook version. And what’s more, both releases come with over an hour of previously unreleased film footage.
THE SYNOPSIS
Steve Martin and John Candy star in this hysterical tale of travel gone awry. Neal Page (Martin) is an uptight ad exec trying to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving with his family. When rerouted to Wichita, Neal reluctantly partners with Del Griffith (Candy), an obnoxious yet loveable salesman. Together, they embark on a cross-country adventure filled with outrageously funny situations and a generous helping of warmth.
