‘Tis the season to be jolly. And with the mountain of top-quality entertainment on Paramount Plus this December, we are all guaranteed to have something great under the TV Christmas tree. From the new Yellowstone origin series, 1923, exclusive drama series George And Tammy, right up to the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, there is something for everyone throughout the month. And we also have word on some new and exciting content coming in 2023.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK

The full movie drops on December 22nd. After more than thirty years of service as one of the navy’s top aviators, Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOP GUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen.
Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw, call sign ‘Rooster’, the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka ‘Goose.’ Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

THE FLATSHARE
The box set drops on December 1st. It contains 6 episodes that run for 60 minutes each. Jessica Brown Findlay and Anthony Welsh star as Tiffany and Leon, two cash-strapped London twentysomethings who share a bed. The catch is Tiffany and Leon have never met and, if their plan works out, they never will. Recovering from a controlling relationship, Tiffany spends her days earning minimum wage for minimum appreciation on a viral news website.
Leon works nightshift in a hospice getting life advice from a terminally ill tween as he tries to free his wrongfully jailed brother. But, as Post-It notes start to fly and each gets unexpectedly drawn into the other’s messy, complex life, an attraction evolves backwards.

Episodes 1 & 2 drops on December 19th and then weekly. The first part of the season contains 8 episodes that run for 60 minutes each. 1923 will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren lead the cast in this exciting new prequel in the Yellowstone franchise. The second part of the season will debut in 2023.

GEORGE & TAMMY

This series has been moved back from its original November release date. Episode 1 drops on December 5th. The season contains 6 episodes that run for 60 minutes each. Country music drama series centered around Tammy Wynette (Jessica Chastain), the first lady of country music. Michael Shannon plays her husband George Jones. The pair’s complicated relationship inspired iconic songs such as Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man” and Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” The series is based on the book, The Three Of Us: Growing Up With Tammy And George, penned by the couple’s daughter, Georgette Jones.

BLOWING LA

The box set drops on December 7th. There are 8 episodes that run for 60 minutes each. Over 8 episodes, Blowing LA offers audiences a glimpse into the rarefied world of $2,400 haircuts. With unique access to two legendary LA establishments-‘Starring By Ted Gibson’ and ‘Kim Vo Salon’-this series goes behind the glossy facade to reveal a world of creative visionaries, ambition, and a fight to stay at the top. Keeping ahead in the salons of A-List favorites is crucial to success. This series draws back the curtain on the stylists’ glossy lives as they come head-to-head to prove themselves in a cut-throat world. For these ambitious hairdressers, no challenge is too big. The first episode will also be airing on Channel 5 as part of ‘Paramount+ Presents’ on December 8th.

SNOW DAY
The full film drops on December 16th on both Paramount+ and Nickelodeon. In Snow Day, siblings Hal (Ky Baldwin) and Natalie Brandston (Michaela Russell) discover that anything is possible on a snow day when a surprise winter whiteout offers them the chance to break routines, take giant risks and follow their dreams. Inspired to pursue his crush, Claire Bonner (Shelby Simmons), Hal enlists the help of his best friend, Lane (Fabi Aguirre) to help him express his feelings, and Natalie decides she must challenge her arch nemesis, the Snowplowman (Jerry Trainor) if she wants to pull off the task of creating a second snow.

BLUE’S BIG CITY ADVENTURE
The full film drops on December 5th and will air on Nickelodeon. Blue’s Big City Adventure follows Josh, who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to audition for Rainbow Puppy’s Broadway musical, and Blue as they skidoo to New York City where they meet new friends and discover the magic of music, dance, and following one’s dreams. The entire “Blue’s Clues” crew is reunited for this special movie event, with the beloved animated friends and all three hosts- Josh, Steve, and Joe- together for the first time in the Big Apple.
THE LOST CITY

The full film drops on December 12th. Starring: Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Daniel Radcliffe. Loretta Sage’s novels are filled with ancient tombs and daring adventures, but that doesn’t mean she’s prepared to face them in real life. When she is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire to locate a legendary lost city, Loretta’s handsome cover model, Alan, sets off on a heroic but hapless rescue mission. Thrust into an epic thrill ride through the jungle, the unlikely pair must work together to survive the elements and survive each other, to find the city’s fabled treasure before it’s lost forever.

LIAM GALLAGHER-KNEBWORTH 22
The documentary drops on December 7th. In June 2022, Liam Gallagher defied all expectations and returned to Knebworth, 26 years after Oasis’ historic 1996 shows. Performing to 170,000 people across two nights in one of the first major stage shows following the pandemic. Knebworth 22 is a feature-length documentary that traces Liam back to the site of his former band’s defining performances, including all-new interviews, behind-the-scenes and epic concert footage.
The film also goes a little bit further, seeking out stories and perspectives from collaborators and fans of different generations from around the world, transporting the emotional and social context of the 90’s shows versus the tumult of our current era. The film is a witty, poignant portrait of humanity, affirming the power of togetherness and the potency of live performance. Additionally, the concert itself, titled Liam Gallagher Live: Knebworth 22 will also be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ from the 7th of December.

PARAMOUNT+ ORIGINALS COMING IN 2023
NO ESCAPE
The series follows two deeply bonded friends, Lana and Kitty, on the run from the UK police. Together they find refuge on a romantic yacht called The Blue, crewed by a group of enigmatic, beautiful people who sail through South East Asia living a life of endless beaches, ocean, and parties. But The Blue harbors dark secrets and when greed and lust drive the crew to make some terrible moral compromises, it leads to the death of one of their own. The paradise and escape the girls thought they had found turns into a nightmare as Lana and Kitty find themselves far from home and in terrible danger.
THE BURNING GIRLS
The series is set in Chapel Croft, a village haunted by a dark and turbulent history. Leading the cast is BAFTA, two-time Academy Award nominee, and Golden Globe award-winning Samantha Morton as Reverand Jack Brookes, a single parent haunted by a tragedy from her previous church and who bears the onus of her husband’s death. Ruby Stokes joins the cast as Jack’s 15-year-old daughter Flo, a teenager who marches to the beat of her own drum. Jack and Flo Brooks arrive in Chapel Croft in the hope of a fresh start. However, they find the village rife with conspiracies and secrets, where uncovering the truth can be deadly in a community with a bloody past.

YELLOWJACKETS SEASON 2
Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story, and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over. Additional casting announced so far for the series include Simone Kessell as the adult Lottie Matthews and Elijah Wood who will play Walter, a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty in ways she won’t see coming.
RIPLEY
The series follows Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, who is hired by a wealthy man to try and convince his vagabond son, Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), who is living a comfortable, trust-funded ex-pat life in Italy, to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder. Dakota Fanning also stars as Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy who suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability, whilst Eliot Sumner will play a friend of Dickie’s who becomes suspicious of Tom. The series is based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling quintet of Tom Ripley novels, from The Night Of’s Steven Zaillian. Zaillian will write and direct the entire first season of Ripley. The series is co-produced by Showtime and Endemol Shine North America in association with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights.
