Patty Jenkins gives us sad news regarding the planned Wonder Woman threequel but gives Star Wars fans something to hope for

It is now common knowledge that DC isn’t going ahead with the planned Wonder Woman 3. The news broke last week that it didn’t fit into their plans moving forward in its current form. Fans were disappointed that the movie wouldn’t be going into production, at least not at this moment. It was also reported that writer/ director Patty Jenkins had walked away from the project after her initial screenplay was rejected. It was said that Jenkins was asked to give the script another go in an attempt to bring it in line with the direction the DC universe was taking now that James Gunn and Peter Safran are in charge. And that she refused and took her leave.

Now though, Patty Jenkins has taken to social media to put her side of the story. In her post, she addresses the reports that have been posted over the past week. While it does seem that Wonder Woman 3 is dead in the water, it does leave the fans with a small sliver of hope. The film COULD yet be made. It is up in the air whether Jenkins will be in charge of the film or someone else will take over. But for Star Wars fans, there is a great piece of news that will give them renewed hope for the delayed project, Rogue Squadron.

THE STATEMENT FROM PATTY JENKINS

ROGUE SQUADRON

While the statement will disappoint Wonder Woman fans, it sounds as if Rogue Squadron is still on the way. The news that Patty Jenkins was directing the film broke a few years back before it was shelved. Now, we know why. While it still may not happen, the news that Jenkins is still attached will give fans of the game renewed hope. Patty Jenkins promised that the film would almost be Top Gun in space. Knowing that she is still attached to the film and has a deal in place with Lucasfilm to make it is exciting news. Of course, as she said in her statement, it could still all fall apart. DC’s loss could yet be Lucasfilm’s gain. But at last, we have clarity.

We will keep you informed of any further developments on this exciting and continuing story.

Are you disappointed that Wonder Woman 3 probably won’t happen? Are you excited about the probable movie version of Rogue Squadron? Do you support Patty Jenkins? Head to the comments section to leave us your thoughts.
