GUCCI: SEX, MONEY, AND POWER

Contributor Investment Broker Andrea is photographed after an interview about Gucci

The documentary drops on February 15th. The inside story of one of fashion’s most dramatic falls, followed by a spectacular rise, Gucci: Sex, Money And Power charts how a brand that was in the gutter in the mid-80s would be in the 1990s ride through the most tumultuous decade in its 100-year history, emerging to become one of the most successful fashion brands ever. As told by the people who were there at the time, this is a tale of a remarkable turnaround. Maurizio brought in American fashion retailer Dawn Mello as the key driver for the transformation.

With the company on the verge of bankruptcy, Dawn and her team injected Gucci with modern ideas, new ways of doing things, and a completely new vision for its future. Its revolutionary designs and collections would mark an extraordinary reinvention. A brand built around quality, luxury, and heritage would be pegged to a bold new strategy-sex. Together their success would inspire a phrase that would inspire all other luxury brands-to “Do a Gucci”

CON GIRL

The box set drops on February 22nd. It contains four episodes of 60 minutes each. In 2011, Russian gymnast Emily Sciberra tells her new best friend that her entire family has been killed in a murder-suicide, including her 15-year-old twin sister. In 2013, a distressed teenage girl with no name is found on the streets of Dublin after escaping a human trafficking ring, so traumatized that she is unable to speak. In 2014, 14-year-old Aurora Hepburn appears at a clinic in Canada after escaping a terrifying kidnapper.

What do these women and their terrifying stories have in common? They are all fake identities, convincingly created by one Australian woman-Samantha Azzopardi-a serial con artist who has amassed more than 75 aliases and repeatedly deceived her victims & authorities around the globe. But Samantha does not fit the usual profile of a con artist. Samantha is female, 34 years old and her motives are a mystery. She doesn’t physically hurt anyone and barely steals from them. She’s not in it for the money, although the emotional and psychological toll she takes on the lives of her victims is often devastating.

In this gripping series crossing three continents and built around the world exclusive eyewitness accounts of Samantha’s victims, viewers are taken on an intriguing quest to find out-who is the real Samantha Azzopardi?
