Anime Expo 2023: Crunchyroll Industry Panel Announcements!

Crunchyroll announces new acquisitions and reveals new trailers at Anime Expo 2023!

Anime Expo is currently taking place in Los Angeles and yesterday, Crunchyroll unveiled some of their new acquisitions along with new trailers of upcoming anime during their Industry Panel! Crunchyroll has acquired some exciting new anime titles which include The Apothecary Diaries, The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of Rust Mountain, GOBLIN SLAYER Season 2, The Kingdoms of Ruin, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, To Be Hero X, Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage, and Black Butler.

During the panel, a new trailer with never-before-seen trailer was revealed for Solo Levelling from A-1 Pictures. The series releases next Winter.

Additionally, Crunchyroll unveiled the world premiere of a new trailer for A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special during the panel. The series launches October 2023.

Moreover, the upcoming My Hero Academia collaboration brings together TOHO animation, Crunchyroll, the NBA (National Basketball Association), NBALAB and HYPERFLY for a one-of-a-kind streetwear line! Exclusive items from this collaboration will debut at NBA Con in Las Vegas. The event will be held from July 7 to July 9. Crunchyroll unveiled a new preview of this new line of streetwear. The full range of merchandise will launch later this Fall.

The Apothecary Diaries (OLM)

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of Rust Mountain (OLM and Sunrise Beyond)

A new season of Black Butler returns in 2024. It will continue to further adapt the manga!

BUCCHIGIRI?! (MAPPA)

When Arajin Tomoshibi reunites with his former best friend, Matakara Asamine, he finds himself involved in a battle among some of the strongest guys around. And then the shadow of a giant genie suddenly looms over them… This new anime is a story of delinquents meets “Arabian Nights”! The crew includes director Hiroko Utsumi (Free!, Banana Fish andSK8! The Infinity), series composer Taku Kishimoto, character designer Takahiro Kagami. The series is coming in January 2024.

Finally, there were some more news announced at Anime Expo in the previous days during other panels. Those who attended the Bones panel yesterday were treated to new trailers for Metallic Rougr and KamiErabi God.app. Both will be coming soon to Crunchyroll. Metallic Rouge releases in January 2024.
