This week on The Official Film Chart, Titanic sails in, and Dune is blown back in, but it’s Avatar that swims its way back to the top!

THE OFFICIAL CHART
This week sees a few surprises hitting the placings. Two titles return while a third arrives for the very first time. With a heavy heart, we must bid farewell to Shazam: Fury Of The Gods, Jurassic World: Dominion, and Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical. And we have a brand new number one. Put your bathing suit on as we dive in to take a look.
THE WAY OF WATER RESURFACES AT NUMBER ONE!
Avatar: The Way Of Water flies back up to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, earning a sixth non-consecutive week at the top. Lifting an impressive 13 places this week following its release on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and 4K UHD, could this be the beginning of another several-week run at the top of the charts?

FAST X RUNS LOW ON FUEL!
The Fast & Furious franchise’s latest chapter, Fast X drops to Number 2, following its Number 1 debut last week. (Read our review here.)

JOHN WICK TAKES A PUNCH BACKWARDS!
John Wick: Chapter 4 gets knocked back a place to number 3. (Read our review here.)

MARIO LOSES A LIFE!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie loses a life as it drops to number 4.

SPIDER-MAN LOSES HIS GRIP!
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse gets washed out as it falls to number 5.
THE POPE’S EXORCIST GETS SCARED OFF!
The Russell Crowe horror The Pope’s Exorcist gets scared back down the chart to number 6.

DUNE BLOWS BACK IN!
Dune has made a strong comeback this week, climbing an impressive 15 spots to secure the Number 7 position on the chart. The reason behind this resurgence is the release of the second trailer for its sequel, Dune: Part 2, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres this November. (Read our review here.)

TITANIC FINALLY SAILS INTO THE TOP TEN!
Another James Cameron-directed title, the romantic drama Titanic – starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, enters the Top 10 for the first time this week, up four to Number 8.

MAVERICK IS IN A HOLDING PATTERN!
Top Gun: Maverick holds tight at Number 9. (Read our review here.)

65 IS ALMOST EXTINCT!
Finally, rounding off the Top 10 Is Adam Driver in the Action-adventure 65, down four places.

TIME TO SURFACE!
It is time to climb out of the chart pool and dry ourselves off, ready for next week. After the surprise new number one, will we get another one next Wednesday? All will be revealed then so until next time…
