Great Power Comes With Great Responsibility in the New Trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

This week on The Official Film Chart, The Little Mermaid sinks, and the Fantastic Beasts return, giving Spider-Man the top spot!

THE CHART

This week on the chart, we get one new entry and one re-entry into the placings. As such, there’s no room in the top ten for The Flash, and A Man Called Otto. But where have these two newbies entered the chart? Time to swing from a thread as we find out.

SPIDER-MAN WEBS HIS WAY TO THE TOP!

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse catapults straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart. The animated Spider-Man adventure, and follow-up to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse manages to outsell the rest of the Top 5 combined on digital downloads only. In the film, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) returns as the web-slinging hero, this time encountering a team of Spider-People who he must work with to come up with a plan to handle a villain more powerful than they have ever encountered, posing a threat to the Multiverse. THE LITTLE MERMAID GOES BACK UNDER THE SEA!

The Little Mermaid slips down to Number 2 after a two-week stint at the top.

MARIO BOUNCES ON THE SPOT!

The Super Mario Bros. Movie hangs on for another week at Number 3.

THE HONOUR AMONG THIEVES RUNS OUT!

Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves drops to Number 4. (Read our review here.)

THE MEG SWIMS IN CIRCLES!

Epic deep-sea monster film The Meg holds on to a place in the Top 5 as fans revisit the film following the release of its sequel in cinemas. (Read our review here.)

THE GUARDIANS FALL AGAIN!

JOHN WICK SHOOTS BACK!

Moving up one place is John Wick: Chapter 4 to Number 7. (Read our review here.)

RUBY GILLMAN SINKS BACK TO THE DEPTHS!

The animated movie Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken lands a second week in the Top 10  as it sinks 2 places to Number 8.

MAVERICK IN A HOLDING PATTERN!

Former chart-topper Top Gun: Maverick holds tight on its position from last week at Number 9. (Read our review here.)

THE FANTASTIC BEASTS RETURN AGAIN!

Finally, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore returns to the Top 10, rising five places to Number 10. (Read our review here.)
