This week on The Official Chart, we have No Hard Feelings as we go Interstellar, but it’s Elemental that takes the top spot!

Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE TOP TEN

This week, we get two new entries and two re-entries into the placings. This means there is no more room in the chart for Babylon 5: The Road Home, The Meg, A Man Called Otto, and Top Gun: Maverick. We also have a brand new number-one title. And you won’t need any elements to find out what it is!

THE CHART GETS ELEMENTAL!

Disney and Pixar’s latest animated adventure Elemental wins a photo-finish race for this week’s Number 1 film. Crossing the finish line just 120 sales ahead of last week’s chart-topper, Elemental is our twelfth film of 2023 to enjoy a Number 1 debut. In Elemental, based in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live in different neighbourhoods, fire element Ember and water element Wade learn they have more in common than they thought when Ember accidentally summons Wade during a plumbing accident.

ELEMENTAL, Disney and Pixar’s all-new, original feature film releasing June 16, 2023, features the voices of Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively. In a city where fire-, water-, land-, and air residents live together, this fiery young woman and go-with-the-flow guy are about to discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common. “Elemental” is directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream. © 2022 Disney/Pixar. A DOUBLE WHAMMY IS INCOMING!

That is the top ten for this week. However, next week will see a double whammy of new releases hit the placings. With a head start of about a week, we can expect to see The Flash speed into the placings after its release on retail digital download. But he will be closely followed by Indiana Jones as Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny hit retail digital download this past Tuesday. Both will give Elemental a serious run for its money. What will prevail? We will find that out next week, so until then…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
