Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower lock horns in the Dance Of The Dragons in the second season of House Of The Dragon.

The Dance Of The Dragons is well on truly on. The trailer for the second season of the Game Of Thrones prequel, House Of The Dragon, has flown in on its leathery wings. After a quite brilliant first season of the TV adaptation of George R.R Martin’s novel, all eyes now turn to see if the second season can be as good, if not better. Emma D’Arcy returns as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. She is now hellbent on revenge on Olivia Cooke’s Queen Alicent Hightower after the death of her son Lucerys during the finale of season one. Fans of the book will know what lies ahead for the pair. And the fates of some of the characters going forward. Let’s see what we can expect with season 2.

RETURNING CAST

Also returning for season 2 is Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen. Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, and Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon. Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole. Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling. Jefferson Hall as identical twins Lord Jason Lannister and Ser Tyland Lannister. Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, and Phoebe Campbell as Lady Rhaena Targaryen.

ABOUT THE SERIES

Based on Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen Conquest. Set nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. The show portrays the events leading up to the beginning of the decline of House Targaryen. A devastating war of succession known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.

House Of The Dragons Season 2 will premiere in mid-2024.
