Wicked | The First Look At The Film Has Cast Itself Online During The Superbowl

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande lead the cast for the first part of the movie adaptation of the hit musical, Wicked. In cinemas in November.

Hitting screens in November, we will have a spell cast on us with the release of Wicked. The film is the first part of a two-part adaptation of the hit stage musical. The cast for the movie includes Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu from a screenplay by Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz. The music for the movie is also by Stephen Schwartz. The first tease for the film has been revealed during the Superbowl.

PREMISE

The film stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. With Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, and Ethan Slater. Marissa Bode, and Jeff Goldblum in supporting roles. Set in the Land of Oz before and continuing after Dorothy Gale’s arrival from Kansas, the film revolves around Elphaba Thropp. A green-skinned woman, and explores the path that leads her to become the Wicked Witch of the West. All while forming an unlikely friendship and later rivalry with Glinda Upland, who would go on to become Glinda the Good.

Wicked will cast its spell in cinemas on November 27th.
