Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprise their roles as Moana and Maui in the upcoming animated sequel, Moana 2. You’re Welcome!
The ocean is calling them back. Eight years after the original film charmed audiences worldwide, on November 27th in the United States and November 29th in the UK, we will once again say ‘You’re Welcome’ as Moana 2 opens in cinemas. The film is written and directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand & Dana Ledoux Miller (all in their feature directorial debuts). And produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino. Once again, the musical fantasy adventure film will feature Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. Both are reprising their roles as Moana and Maui respectively. Alan Tudyk also lends his voice to the film as Heihei.
Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa’i, the composers and co-songwriters of the first film, return to score and write the songs. While there is no Lin-Manuel Miranda this time around, additional songs have been written by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. The new trailer for the film has been unveiled today. Let’s set sail alongside Moana as we take a look.
PREMISE
After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana journeys to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever faced.
POSTERS
Alongside the new trailer, two new posters for the film have also been released:
