From Mean Girls: The Musical, Quantum Leap Series 2. Melissa Etheridge and Kamp Koral Season 2, there’s joy this July on Paramount+
There’s plenty of joy to be had this July on Paramount+. There is more entertainment to keep us all entertained. In the mood for a musical remake of a classic 2004 hit movie? Then Mean Girls: The Musical is for you. Or you could sit back and watch Quantum Leap Series 2. Melissa Etheridge fans can sit back and watch the two-part series Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken. And for the little ones, there’s Kamp Koral season 2 to keep them entertained. Plus with the kids and family series alongside kids and teen movies, there’s plenty to keep everyone happy throughout the month.
MEAN GIRLS-THE MUSICAL
The film drops on July 16th. New student Cady Heron, played by Angourie Rice, enters the high school social scene. “The popular clique known as ‘The Plastics’ wastes no time in welcoming her warmly.” Led by Regina George, played by Reneé Rapp, the group includes Gretchen, played by Bebe Wood. And Karen, played by Avantika.
However, things take a turn when Cady falls for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels, played by Christopher Briney. And becomes the target of Regina’s wrath. With the help of her outcast friends Janis, played by Auli’i Cravalho, and Damian, played by Jaquel Spivey, Cady sets out to take down Regina, the group’s leader. Along the way, she learns to stay true to herself while navigating the challenges of high school. (Read our review here.)
QUANTUM LEAP SERIES 2
Part 1 of the box set drops on July 18th. There are 7 episodes of 60 minutes each. It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song, has been assembled to restart the project in hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorised leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison, who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.
At the helm of the highly confidential operation is Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams, a no-nonsense career military man who must answer to his bosses who won’t be happy once they learn about the breach of protocol. As Ben leaps from life to life, putting right what once went wrong, it becomes clear that he and the team are on a thrilling journey. However, the team know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s leap and bring him home, they must act fast or lose him forever.
MURDAUGH MURDERS: THE MOVIE
The film drops on July 4th. It is in two parts, both of which will be available. Charging attorney Alex Murdaugh with the double homicide of his wife and son marked the end of one of South Carolina’s most powerful legal dynasties. This twisted saga, one that has entranced and disturbed the public for years, continues to captivate with its true tale of privilege, madness, and murder.
MELISSA ETHERIDGE: I’M NOT BROKEN
The box set drops on July 10th. There are two episodes of 60 minutes each. MELISSA ETHERIDGE: I’M NOT BROKEN tells an inspiring story of healing and transcendence through the power of music. When five female residents from the Topeka Correctional Facility, a women’s prison in Kansas, write letters to Etheridge that she uses as inspiration to create and perform an original song for them. Having recently lost her son to opioids, Etheridge works to understand and interrupt the cycle of addiction. While connecting with these women who, so often, are forgotten by society.
KAMP KORAL SERIES 2
The box set drops on July 10th. It contains 13 episodes of 30 minutes each. SpongeBob and all his friends return to Kamp Koral for another spirited summer of fun! Camp activities include: staying up all night. Monster lessons. Digging up a prehistoric creature. And, most importantly, having the best summer ever!
CODE BLACK
The box set drops on July 15th. There are 3 series, 47 episodes of 60 minutes each. Residency Director Dr Leanne Rorish puts her four first-year residents to work immediately on their first day at Angels Memorial Hospital, in the busiest, most notorious hospital ER in the nation.
