This forthcoming film offers fans a glimpse into the era preceding the Cybertron wars. Delving into uncharted territory, the movie will unveil the untold origins of two iconic figures in the franchise: OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON. What sets this film apart is its distinction as the inaugural fully CG-animated Transformers feature, adding to its novelty and significance.
After releasing a new poster for the film yesterday, Paramount Pictures has just revealed another new poster from across the pond. It features the central characters of the upcoming chapter in the Transformers series but showcases the American release date significantly earlier than the UK’s. Stay tuned for the debut of the latest trailer tonight at 9 PM!
SYNOPSIS
TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.
RETURN TO CYBERTRON
As mentioned above, the film will take us back to a time before the war on Cybertron and explore the relationship between Prime and Megatron before becoming bitter rivals. Prime, then known as Orion Pax, and Megatron, then D-16, went from the closest of friends to sworn enemies as the battle lines were drawn between the Autobots and Decepticons. As the war between the factions intensified, their relationship broke down, setting them off on a path that would see both sides rampage across the cosmos.
A STELLAR CAST
Paramount has amassed a colossal cast for this latest adventure to bring the film home. Chris Hemsworth stars as Orion Pax, and Brian Tyree Henry stars as D-16. Rounding out the cast are Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1 and Keegan-Michael Key as B-127. Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm also lend their voices to Transformers.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem produce the film. Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Brian Oliver, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg are executive producers.
RELEASE
This is exciting news for Transformers fans. The early fan reactions to the film’s first screenings were very positive, with some suggesting it is the best take on the property since 1986. The early praise, coupled with an all-star cast, has set the bar high, and we cannot wait to see what the film has in store. Either way, the Transformers are making a comeback on the big screen, and fans can finally yell, “Til all are one!”
TRANSFORMERS ONE will be released in UK cinemas on October 11th, 2024. Mark the date on your calendar and prepare to roll out with the Autobots.
