No matter what you do to her, Maxine keeps coming back for more. After surviving the original movie, ‘X’, she was back once again this summer. Mia Goth returned to reprise her role in the third movie in the franchise, Maxxxine. Joining Mia Goth in this new chapter are Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, and Lily Collins, with Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon. Ti West again steps behind the camera to direct proceedings as well as writing the film. In addition, West produces the movie alongside Mia Goth, Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss. A24 is again distributing the film. The film is now available to watch at home. Let’s check in on Maxine to see how she’s doing. BE WARNED-the trailer below features strong language, violence and gore.
PREMISE
After surviving a massacre in Texas, Maxine continues to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous actress, all while evading the Night Stalker in 1985 Los Angeles.
The film was marketed as the final chapter in the ‘X’ saga, after X and the prequel Pearl. However, Ti West has stated recently that he has an idea for a fourth film in mind if Maxxxine is successful. In fact, he may even make it his next project. West is working on the fourth chapter now. Time will inevitably tell.
THE ORIGINAL SCORE
Also becoming available in September is Tyler Bates’ original score and selected songs from the film, pressed on sparkly red carpet vinyl. You can preorder your copy here.
