Vertigo Releasing is releasing Guy Pearce’s historical action epic, The Convert, to own or rent on digital from 14th October.
THE PREMISE
When lay preacher (Guy Pearce – Momento, The Hurt Locker, L.A. Confidential) arrives at a British settlement in 1830s New Zealand, his violent past is drawn into question and his faith put to the test as he finds himself caught in the middle of a bloody war between Māori tribes.
The Convert explores questions of faith, transformation, and the nature of violence. A visceral watch, ambitious in scope and action, the film is also one of the most authentic and exciting depictions of pre-colonial Aotearoa New Zealand and Māori culture ever portrayed on screen.
Lee Tamahori, known for directing “Next,” “xXx: State of the Union,” “Once Were Warriors,” and “Die Another Day,” directs the film “The Convert.”
