THE PREMISE

Produced by STUDIOCANAL and RABBIT TRACK PICTURES. Playing Nice, adapted by Malpractice writer Grace Ofori-Attah, is based on the best-selling novel by British author JP Delaney. In the backdrop of the expansive Cornish landscape, it tells the story of two couples who find out their toddlers were switched at birth due to a hospital error. And face a horrifying dilemma: do they keep the sons they have raised and loved? Or reclaim their biological child?

In a waking nightmare, Pete (James Norton) and Maddie (Niamh Algar) find themselves thrust into the lives of another couple. Miles (James McArdle) and Lucy (Jessica Brown Findlay). Initially, it appears that all parties have reached an agreement, but soon, underlying motives begin to surface. The question arises: how much trust can each couple place in the true parents of their child—or in each other? Pushed to the edge, Pete and Maddie come to understand that they will do whatever it takes to keep their family intact.
