Rachel Zegler is Snow White and Gal Gadot is the Evil Queen in the official trailer for the Disney Live-Action remake of the classic animated movie.
On March 21st, 2025, we will once again be saying Hi-Ho! On that date, the live-action, musical remake of the classic tale, Snow White will be in theaters. The film is based on the animated classic movie from 1937 and stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White. Gal Gadot also stars in the role of The Evil Queen. Also featured in the film is Andrew Burnap as Jonathan. Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman. Dujonna Gift as Maple, and Martin Klebba as Grumpy. Marc Webb is directing the remake with a screenplay written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson.
The film has attracted controversy from the start. The casting of Zegler has come under fire, as have the actress’s comments regarding the original film. In addition, the casting of actors who were not dwarves also came under attack. The dwarves are now CGI creations made to look similar to their animated counterparts. The official trailer for the film has been released. It is time to whistle while you work as we take a new look.
THE PREMISE
The film is like the animated original, which itself is loosely based on the 1812 fairy tale of the same title by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White is a princess living with her wicked and cold-hearted stepmother, the Queen. Fearing that Snow White’s beauty will outshine her own, the Queen forces her to work as a scullery maid. Angered when her magic mirror tells her Snow White is now the ‘Fairest of them all’, the Queen orders her Huntsman to take Snow White into the forest, kill her, and bring back her heart in a jewelled box as proof. The huntsman falters, allowing her to escape where she discovers the cottage of the seven dwarfs. The Magic Mirror reveals that Snow White is still living. Angered by the deceit, the Queen creates a poisoned apple that will put whoever eats it into a death-like sleep.
