John Cena returns as the less-than-heroic Peacemaker in the thrilling first trailer for James Gunn’s Peacemaker Season 2.
At long last, James Gunn has delivered our first look at the hotly anticipated Peacemaker Season 2. Hot on the heels of yesterday’s awesome new poster, the DC supremo has shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming new season, and if you were hoping for more insanity from DC’s biggest douche bag, you’re in luck. The recent sizzle reel was more than enough to whet our appetites, but today’s teaser is explosive. In the gloriously packed two-minute teaser, we see John Cena in action and get our first look at Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag, Sr. If that isn’t enough, we see Danielle Brooks taking the fight to the enemy, and Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt wrestling with a biker gang. However, perhaps the most jaw-dropping addition is the inclusion of Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl from the upcoming Superman film, interviewing Peacemaker for a role in something bigger…the Justice League, perhaps! Okay, I’m sold. Peacemaker Season 2 looks epic and every bit as entertaining as its predecessor. With the DC universe now under the watchful eye of James Gunn, fans will be eager to see how the formula changes for season 2, especially as it takes place after the events of this summer’s mammoth blockbuster, Superman. But with Gunn at the helm, the continuity of the new-look DCU looks to be getting off on the right foot, and long may it reign. Fans of the IP deserve a thriving DC Universe they can be proud of, and with James Gunn at the helm, the future of the comic book landscape looks very promising.
And, of course, we can all look forward to another string of fantastic opening credit sequences when the series returns to Max this summer. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to enjoy Peacemaker’s latest adventures. As you can see by the trailer, Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on MAX on August 21. So mark the date in your diary, and get ready for some hilarious DC hijinks.
