The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping Adds Elle Fanning as Effie

The Hunger Games: Sunshine on the Reaping casting

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has cast Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket.

Today, we have a third casting announcement for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Elle Fanning will play Effie Trinket, a member of the stylist team for District 12. Elizabeth Banks played this role in the original Hunger Games films.

Fanning is known for her roles in A Complete Unknown, Maleficent, and Super 8. Her next project will see her play a synthetic human in Dan Tachtenberg’s upcoming Predator: Badlands. She is represented by UTA, TFC Management, and Hansen Jacobson.

The Lionsgate film is based on Suzanne Collins’s bestselling novel, which was published on March 18 and received wide acclaim. The book sold 1.5 million copies in its first week on sale in the U.S., UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The 1.2 million copies sold in its first week in the U.S. are twice the first-week sales of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and three times the sales of Mockingjay.
