Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone Star in the First Trailer for Yorgos Lanthimos' Bugonia

Jesse Plemons believes Emma Stone is an Alien invader intent on destroying Planet Earth in the first trailer for Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia.

Emma Stone’s collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos continues in 2025 with the release of the director’s latest project, Bugonia. After teaming on Poor Things last year, the duo is back together to bring another bizarre tale to the screen. In Bugonia, two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced she is an alien intent on destroying Planet Earth. Stone is playing the kidnapped CEO who finds herself drugged and imprisoned by the delusional duo. Jesse Plemons, on the other hand, stars as a Beekeeper who rapidly becomes obsessed with the theory of alien invasion.

The film is a remake of Save the Green Planet, which was directed by Joon-hwan Jang. Jang was initially slated to direct the remake, but passed before filming could get underway. So can Yorgos Lanthimos deliver a worthy remake of Jang’s vision? Take a look at the first trailer below.
