Our First Look at Marvel Animation's Eyes of Wakanda is Here!

Move over, Black Panther, because Marvel Animation has shared our first look at Eyes of Wakanda – the 4-episode series premieres on August 27.

We are officially in July, and Marvel Animation has dropped our first look at the upcoming Eyes of Wakanda series. The four-part animated anthology television miniseries is premiering on Disney+ on August 27th. However, the plot of the series has largely remained a mystery until now. The official synopsis for the series states: “Marvel Animation’s new action-adventure series ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda.
They are the Hatut Zaraze, and this is their story.”

So, what can we expect from this ambitious new series? To help us answer that question, Marvel Animation has dropped the first teaser for the miniseries. Although the thirty-second sneak peek doesn’t give much away, it does give us a taste of what awaits us next month. Check out the teaser below.

THE SERIES

Say what you will, but the animation looks stunning. Translating the beauty of Wakanda from live-action to animation was always going to be a challenging task. Still, series director Todd Harris and his incredible team appear to have captured its beauty, offering a breathtaking new aspect of the picturesque Marvel landscape. Furthermore, the director, alongside Black Panther maestro Ryan Coogler, has assembled an impressive cast to bring the series to life.

The series stars: Featuring the voices of Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and
Anika Noni Rose.

The show is also executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Kalia King.

RELEASE

I don’t know about you, but I’m sold. Wakanda is always a landmark destination for me in the MCU, and I am fascinated to see how the series plays out with the Black Panther at the helm. But with the Hatut Zaraze on hand to guide us through this time-spanning adventure, the show looks like a fine addition to our late summer watchlist.
