MUBI has revealed the streaming date for Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s directorial debut, Hot Milk. Get the details here.
MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, is pleased to announce that BAFTA-nominated writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s (Ida, She Said, Disobedience) directorial debut, Hot Milk, will be available to stream exclusively on MUBI from 22 August 2025.
Starring BAFTA award-winning Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Emily). Emmy and BAFTA TV-nominated Fiona Shaw (Bad Sisters, Killing Eve). Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread, Corsage). PREMISE
Set in the scorching heat of a Spanish summer. The film follows Rose (Fiona Shaw) and her daughter Sofia (Emma Mackey) as they travel to the seaside town of Almería to consult Gómez (Vincent Perez). An enigmatic healer who may hold the key to Rose’s mysterious illness. But in the sun-drenched town, Sofia, trapped till now by her mother’s condition, begins to shed her inhibitions. She is captivated by the magnetic charm of Ingrid, a free-spirited traveller portrayed by Vicky Krieps.
Sofia’s increased freedom becomes too much for her controlling mother. And as the hot sun beats down, their relationship simmers with pent-up resentment and bitterness. Threatening to tear the fragile threads that hold them together.
Featuring layered and compelling performances from the central cast, Hot Milk is a vivid and evocative look at liberation and longing.
