OUR REACTIONS
We recently saw the film at The 69th BFI London Film Festival. Sadly, we didn’t find the film to be a gripping thriller, with our editor, Phil Roberts, saying:
Luca Guadagnino’s #AfterTheHunt is a frustrating watch. Aside from a glowing performance from Julia Roberts and the scene stealing Michael Stuhlbarg, the film is an overstuffed drama that fails to deliver on its promise.
Not even Andrew Garfield can spark this into life. #LFF
While, I myself said:
#AfterTheHunt is one of this years complete letdowns.
A talented cast is wasted in a misguided attempt to spark a debate regarding issues that inhabit the world today.
It has nothing to say or make you think after the end credits. More like after the snooze.
#BFi #LFF
