Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man is on its starting blocks. It prepares to sprint onto home entertainment from Paramount Home Entertainment.
Hunt Him Down! The Running Man will return on home entertainment. The film will sprint onto digital platforms to buy on January 13th. It will be available to rent on January 27th. The physical releases, incorporating a 4K UHD Steelbook, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, will reach the finishing line and be available to buy on March 2nd. This new version of the story is more in line with Stephen King’s original book. Glen Powell takes the role of Ben Richards with able support from William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo and Josh Brolin. The film follows Ben Richards as he participates in a game show called The Running Man. In this game show, murderous Hunters chase contestants across the world to win money.
We loved the film, with our editor, Phil Roberts, saying:
Edgar Wright’s #RunningManMovie is an absolute blast. Although Wright’s signature style feels tempered, Glen Powell leads with his signature brilliance. Fast, slick, violent and often hilarious, the film is a fun rollercoaster ride that upholds the quality of King’s masterwork.
While I had this to say about the film:
#RunningManMovie is a superb adaptation of the original Stephen King novel.
Glen Powell is the perfect lead for the film; the action and comedy come thick and fast, and it is a great popcorn movie.
Not everything works, but it doesn’t take away the enjoyment the film contains.

PREMISE
THE RUNNING MAN is a fun, unhinged, deadly game show. Contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public. Each day brings a greater cash reward. Working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is coerced into the competition by the show’s ruthless producer (Josh Brolin). Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into a fan favourite—and a threat to the entire system.
