The First Trailer For Lee Cronin's The Mummy Emerges From the Sarcophagus

The Mummy gets a chilling new look in the first trailer for Lee Cronin’s version of The Mummy.

A new interpretation of The Mummy is emerging from the Sarcophagus. News broke in June 2024 that Lee Cronin was developing an all-new take on The Mummy. The visionary director is a longtime fan of the classic Universal Monsters and jumped at the chance to add his signature touch to the genre when Blumhouse approached him.

Today, the studio has shared our first look at the film, and as expected, it is oozing with Cronin’s horror flair. Warner Bros, the studio behind the film’s distribution, has released the first trailer for the film, and if you were hoping for an edge-of-your-seat rollercoaster ride, you’ve come to the right place. The film appears to be a nerve-shredding horror-fest, filled with jump scares, a sarcophagus of iconography, and some nail-bitingly atmospheric sets. But don’t take my word for it. Hit play on the trailer and experience the horror for yourself.

SYNOPSIS

The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace—eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.

The film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, with Veronica Falcón. The film is written and directed by Cronin, and produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville. The executive producers are Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher and Lee Cronin. Cronin is supported behind the camera by a team of sterling film artisans, including director of photography Dave Garbett, production designer Nick Bassett, editor Bryan Shaw, costume designer Joanna Eatwell, music by Stephen McKeon and casting by Terri Taylor and Sarah Domeier Lindo.
