Get ready to beam up and go where no one has gone before with Star Trek‘s 60th celebration. Today, the Science Museum announced a programme to mark 60 years of the iconic science fiction franchise, Star Trek. To celebrate the anniversary, visitors – in a world first – can watch all thirteen blockbuster films in the franchise on one of the biggest screens in Europe. A free trail spanning the museum will feature iconic objects from the franchise’s archives, curated by the Science Museum.
Meanwhile, exclusive anniversary products, including a limited-edition anniversary coin and apparel, will be available during a Star Trek takeover of the mezzanine level of the museum’s shop. The programme of activity will launch on Thursday, 26 March (Stardate -629499.47). It will start with a special edition of the Science Museum’s free adults-only event, Lates. Moreover, the Star Trek at 60 celebration runs from Thursday, 26 March 2026, to September 2026.

STAR TREK LATES

The Star Trek at 60 programme will open on Thursday, 26 March, with a special edition of Lates. Visitors to this after-hours event will be among the first to experience the Star Trek Trail. They will also access the museum’s exclusive Star Trek 60th anniversary product range. Amid out-of-this-world DJs, scientists, speakers, and performers, visitors are encouraged to don their costumes and strut the iconic catwalk in Energy Hall. Additionally, they can pose for a photo in our 360 Enterprise Bridge experience. Or, they may discover more about what cutting-edge research says about the big science questions of the franchise, from augments to replicators.
STAR TREK AT 60 FILM SEASON

Star Trek remains one of culture’s greatest and most enduring sagas. For the very first time, audiences can experience the entire cinematic legacy in one season. Many of the films have been digitised for the first time, ahead of the screenings at the Science Museum’s IMAX: The Ronson Theatre, one of the biggest screens in the UK. This complete collection spans more than four decades of cinema, from the classic original voyages to the modern reboot blockbusters. Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond will be screened in full IMAX format. The film season will kick off at Star Trek Lates on Thursday 26 March. STAR TREK TRAIL

The Science Museum has curated a new Star Trek Trail, which will be unveiled on Thursday, 26 March, for visitors to enjoy. This free trail will feature iconic objects from the franchise’s archives, including screen-used props. It will explore the surprising connections between science fiction and real-world innovations. Furthermore, it will be available to visitors throughout the season and take them on a journey across the museum.

As part of the celebration, exclusive anniversary merchandise developed by the Science Museum will be available to purchase on-site in the takeover of the mezzanine level of the museum shop from Thursday, 26 March. These include a limited-edition anniversary collectable coin and an exclusive silver embroidered cap and sew-on patch. With an illustration of the iconic ships, the specially produced Ships of the Line t-shirt, tote bag and poster will delight interstellar transport fans.
