The Custom Of The Country Starts Shooting With New Cast Additions

StudioCanal announces that a pair of movies will receive a worldwide 4K UHD release. They will join the StudioCanal celebrated cult classics range.

Are you ready for two more cult classics to hit 4K UHD? StudioCanal has announced a pair of worldwide 4K UHD debuts for star-studded psychological thrillers joining their celebrated Cult Classics range. THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF stars Roger Moore. Marlon Brando’s THE NIGHTCOMERS also joins the range. Both titles will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and Digital from Monday, 27th April. Additionally, both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray include four art cards.

THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF

Stalked by fear and terror – night and day! The brilliantly taut and twisty psychological thriller THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF stars Roger Moore (A View To A Kill), Hildegard Neil (Anthony and Cleopatra), Freddie Jones (The Elephant Man), Anton Rogers (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Kevork Malikyan (Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull). It makes its worldwide UHD debut on April 27 as part of STUDIOCANAL’s Cult Classics range. In addition, it features a stunning brand-new 4K restoration. It comes with a fantastic set of extras and four art cards. The film is also released on Blu-ray and Digital.

Expertly directed by Ealing veteran Basil Dearden (The Blue Lamp), THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF features Roger Moore as you’ve never seen him before. He gives a powerful performance as a businessman whose existence is reshaped by malevolent forces. It’s arguably Moore’s greatest non-Bond role (and his personal favourite). Furthermore, it’s a double treat for Moore fans. The actor plays both a conservative businessman and his mysterious doppelganger.

Described by Variety as a ‘tense riddle’, THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat as they try to second-guess Moore’s peculiar fate. Overlooked by audiences when it was released in 1970, the film is now regarded as a cult gem. The central role sees Moore not just shaken and stirred but scared out of his wits.

SYNOPSIS

Harold Pelham (Roger Moore), a partner in a large electronics firm, finds himself in bewildering circumstances after recovering from a near-fatal car accident. What causes him to renounce his high business principles? Why do friends and colleagues repeatedly sight him in places he has never been? And why does Julie, an attractive girl he has seen only once, claim such an intimate relationship with him? Does Pelham really have a doppelgänger – or is he losing his mind?

THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF is available to buy on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital from 27th April 2026 and is available to pre-order.

THE NIGHTCOMERS

The chilling psychological period chiller THE NIGHTCOMERS – starring Marlon Brando, Stephanie Beacham, Thora Hird, and Harry Andrews – makes its worldwide UHD debut on April 27 as part of STUDIOCANAL’s Cult Classics range. It comes with a magnificent brand-new 4K restoration. In addition, it features a host of extras and four art cards. The film is also released on Blu-ray and Digital.

Marlon Brando’s intense performance dominates this atmospheric, sexually charged feature from the golden age of British horror, directed by the legendary Michael Winner (Death Wish). The film, also starring Stephanie Beacham (Schizo), sketches a prequel to Henry James’ classic Gothic novella The Turn of the Screw. Brando appears in typically compelling form as the servant whose disturbing, magnetic presence exerts a corrupting hold over the occupants of a country estate.

Described by acclaimed critic Rex Reed as “gripping, spine-tingling and terrific” and “eerily and effectively told” by The Sunday Express,, THE NIGHTCOMERS is dripping with atmosphere and laden with dread, and features steamy scenes between Brando and Beacham that is bound to bring Henry James purists out in a cold sweat. Fans of Jack Cardiff’s The Turn of the Screw adaptation, The Innocents, and Nicole Kidman’s creepy classic, The Others, shouldn’t miss this: one of Winner’s most fascinating and sheerly enjoyable films.

SYNOPSIS

Following the death of their parents, Flora and Miles are left in the care of repressed governess Miss Jessel and housekeeper Mrs Grose. But it is Brando’s Peter Quint, the malevolent servant, who truly rules the household. Miss Jessel, equally repulsed and fascinated by Quint, is drawn into a secret sado-masochistic affair with him. Meanwhile, Flora and Miles are increasingly in his thrall…

THE NIGHTCOMERS is available to buy on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital from 27th April 2026 and is available to pre-order.
