Get ready to take to the skies this May with the all-new family animated adventure! Altitude is bringing their all-new family adventure animation Charlie the Wonderdog to UK and Irish cinemas from 22nd May. Special previews will be taking place from 16th to 17th May. The film features the voice of Owen Wilson, returning to the vocal booth after voicing Lightning McQueen in the CARS movies. In this new film, Owen Wilson voices Charlie. The trailer for the film can be seen below.
Just from the look of the trailer, we can see what we are in for. The film comes across as an animated version of Superman, just with a dog as the hero. There is also some great comedy for the whole family. The little ones will lap it up, cheering for Charlie and his exploits. Meanwhile, the adults will get a kick out of the humor that will go over their heads. All in all, the film looks to be the perfect movie for the half-term holidays. It will bring fun and enjoyment throughout its ninety-five-minute runtime.
THE PREMISE
When Danny’s loyal, four-legged best friend is mysteriously abducted by aliens, Charlie returns home with incredible new abilities and a mission to protect the people he loves. As his nemesis neighbourhood cat Puddy sets out to take over the world, it’s up to Charlie the Wonderdog to discover the true meaning of heroism and save the day!
Funny, heartfelt, and packed with adventure, Charlie the Wonderdog is a story for everyone who has ever loved a dog. It is also for every dog who has ever loved them back.
BEHIND THE SCENES
The film is directed by Shea Wageman. The director also has a hand in the screenplay alongside Steve Ball and Raul Inglis. Wageman also produces the film along with Michael Balfry and Carson Loveday. The film originally opened in Poland towards the end of last year, and opened in the United States in January of this year, before crossing the big pond to open in UK cinemas next month. The film itself is rated PG.
Charlie The Wonderdog will show he’s a good boy…most of the time when the film opens in cinemas on May 22nd. Preview screenings will be held on May 16th and 17th.
