The hit Prime Video series, We Were Liars, is returning for a second season. After the opening season became a hit, the plans were well underway to film a second. Now it has been revealed that six new series regulars have been cast for the highly anticipated second season. These new cast members, joining the returning Emily Alyn Lind, Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, Joseph Zada, and David Morse, are listed below.
Josh Dallas for “Young Harris”
Josh Dallas can recently be seen starring as the lead ‘Ben Stone’ in the hit series MANIFEST. Variety called the show “the undisputed breakout of the 2019 season”, when it aired on NBC before moving to Netflix. It ended its 4-season run there.
Previously, Josh starred in ABC’s ONCE UPON A TIME as ‘Prince Charming’ across 7 seasons. Additional credits include NBC’s THE HUNTING PARTY. He is also known for feature credits in Anthony Hemingway’s RED TAILS, Marvel’s THOR as ‘Fandral’. He is also known for the Disney animated hits ZOOTOPIA and ZOOTOPIA 2.
Character Description: Charming, well-heeled, and dedicated to raising his daughters to honor the family name, Harris is a hard worker, a loyal husband, and stoic in the face of crisis. Despite already having command of a media empire, Harris often finds himself cast in the shadow of his even more charming – and far more reckless – older brother. The brother is the only person standing in the way of the future he envisions…
Costa D’Angelo for “Pfeff”
With training from one of Australia’s leading arts institutions, Costa D’Angelo has quickly emerged as a rising talent to watch. He has built momentum across both domestic and international screen projects. He recently delivered a breakout performance in Hulu’s hit drama Tell Me Lies, portraying a complex psychology graduate student who moonlights as a drug dealer. Significantly, he shares a tangled past with one of the central characters. His character becomes romantically involved with Lucy (Grace Van Patten). This adds further tension to the series’ layered relationships.
Costa is currently filming a Netflix hockey series alongside Michelle Monaghan, with Shawn Levy producing and Trey Edwards directing. He also appears in Zoe Kazan’s highly anticipated adaptation of East of Eden, also for Netflix. The series is premiering this fall.
He first gained recognition with a role on the long-running Australian series Neighbours, before expanding his presence with appearances in Crazy Fun Park (ABC) and feature projects including The Deb (2024) and Shiver (2026).
Character Description: A New England college kid with a mysterious edge, Pfeff is observant, soulful, and wounded in the most compelling way. When he shows up on Beechwood Island, he doesn’t really intend to upend the Sinclair sisters’ lives. However, it’s an inevitability.
Parker Lapaine for ‘Young Carrie’
Parker Lapaine was last seen to rave reviews on the UK stage for acclaimed director Matthew Dunster in the play RED SPEEDO (opposite Cole Finn) and in the final episode of S2 of the hit HBO’s series HOUSE OF THE DRAGONS.
Character Description: In the summer of 1999, Carrie is sensitive, quick-witted, and yearning to be loved. Ostensibly, she is the Harvard-bound, well-heeled, obedient eldest daughter… until an intriguing new boy arrives on the island. He tempts her with a very different kind of future.
Peyton List for “Young Tipper”
Peyton List’s most recent roles include recurring parts on STAR TREK: PICARD and ABC’s THE ROOKIE. She has also previously recurred on CW’s CHARMED. In addition, she was a regular on FOX’s GOTHAM in the role of “Poison Ivy” and USA’s COLONY. Both shows wanted to make her a series regular. She can now be seen appearing in the recently released independent film, SPINNING GOLD, directed by Tim Bogart.
Other TV credits include lead series regular roles on the CW’s FREQUENCY and THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, as well as ABC’s FLASH FORWARD and BIG SHOTS. She has also recurred on CW’s hit show THE FLASH as ‘Lisa Snart aka the Golden Glider’, ABC’s BLOOD & OIL, and five seasons of AMC’s critically acclaimed show MAD MEN as ‘Jane Sterling’. Peyton has appeared on the CW’s 90210 and Showtime’s HOUSE OF LIES, amongst many others.
Character Description: The young matriarch of a Kennedy-esque dynasty, Tipper can bake a perfect pie, host the hell out of a dinner party, and deftly pull the strings in her husband’s quest for more wealth and power. She’s always done it all with effortless grace and old-money elegance. However, this year, a family crisis exposes her sharp edges, her icy temper, and her dirty little secrets.
Elysia Roorbach for ‘Young Penny’
Elysia Roorbach holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She studied at Atlantic Acting Company, Stonestreet Studios, and spent a term in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Immediately upon graduating, she starred in the world premiere of Las Aventuras de Juan Planchard, a co-production between Tectonic Theater Company and Miami New Drama. It was directed by Tony Award nominee and Presidential Medal of Arts recipient Moisés Kaufman. Her passion for theater continued as she went on to star as ‘Honey’ in the South Coast Repertory production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
She has starred in over a dozen short films, many with successful festival runs. She can be seen recurring in season 2 of HBO Max’s Emmy Award-winning series The Pitt.
Character Description: With a competitive streak a mile wide, Penny is charming, popular, and a hopeless romantic – for now, anyway. She deftly hides her struggles with her body image and a burgeoning panic disorder hidden from everyone. Eventually, someone unexpected sees beyond her “Perfect Penny” mask.
Madison Wolfe for ‘Young Bess’
Madison Wolfe stars in Netflix’s hit series The Hunting Wives, sharing the screen with Brittany Snow, Malin Åkerman, and Chrissy Metz. She also took on a role in AMC’s Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches.
Wolfe is recognized for her part in HBO’s acclaimed series True Detective, where she portrayed Woody Harrelson’s daughter, and she appeared in The Campaign alongside Will Ferrell.
She previously appeared in The Conjuring 2, directed by James Wan, and starred in the feature film I Kill Giants opposite Zoe Saldaña.
Her additional credits include working with acclaimed directors David O. Russell in Joy and Jay Roach in Trumbo. She appeared alongside Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, Elle Fanning, Helen Mirren, and John Goodman.
Character Description: The summer she turns 16, Bess dreams of being a songwriter, an adventurer, and most importantly… nothing like her mother. Desperate to fit in with the older kids, especially the three college-age boys who have unexpectedly moved into the guest house, Bess will do anything to impress them. She will even do some things she’ll live to regret.
