And we’re back! After a week away, welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE OFFICIAL UK TOP TEN CHART

As we approach Halloween this weekend, it’s surprising that there are hardly any horror movies in the top ten. Only two are horror, with the rest of the chart made up of two new entries and the same favorites we’ve been buying. But what are these horror movies and new entries, and where do they fit in the chart? It isn’t a Brand New Day, as we find out.

(1) SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its reign at the top of the Official Film Chart, securing a third consecutive week at Number 1. Tom Holland’s latest outing as Peter Parker has now established itself as one of the autumn’s strongest home entertainment performers, holding off a major new challenger this week. Picking up after the events of No Way Home, the film finds Peter living in a world where nobody remembers him, throwing himself fully into life as Spider-Man while facing the consequences of growing increasingly isolated from the people he once loved.

(2) MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

Its closest competition comes from Masters of the Universe, which makes an impressive debut at Number 2. Nicholas Galitzine plays Prince Adam in the new live-action adventure, returning to Eternia after years away to find his home under Skeletor’s control. Forced to finally embrace his destiny as He-Man, Adam joins forces with Teela and Man-At-Arms in a battle to take back the kingdom and stop Skeletor’s grip on Eternia from becoming permanent.

Nicholas Galitzine stars as ‘Adam’ in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE.

(3) PRACTICAL MAGIC 2

Last week’s major new arrival Practical Magic 2 remains among the week’s biggest titles, settling at Number 3 after its runner-up debut.

(4) OBSESSION

Meanwhile, Obsession enjoys a renewed burst of momentum. The supernatural horror climbs four places into the Top 5, continuing an impressive chart run that has already seen it become one of the most persistent horror releases of recent weeks.

(5) MINIONS & MONSTERS

Animated favorites also remain a major force in the countdown. Minions & Monsters moves up to Number 5.

(6) PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie stays close behind as family titles continue to dominate the upper half of the chart.

(7) DISCLOSURE DAY

Former Number 1 Disclosure Day also gains ground this week, climbing two places as Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller maintains its long-running presence in the Top 10.

(8) RISE OF THE FOOTSOLDIER: RETRIBUTION

After a strong debut last week, Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution slides down the chart but remains in the Top 10.

(9) THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD

Another notable new arrival appears further down the countdown as The Death of Robin Hood makes its Official Film Chart debut at Number 9. Hugh Jackman takes on a darker interpretation of the legendary outlaw, playing an aging and gravely wounded Robin Hood who is forced to confront a lifetime of violence and bloodshed. After a mysterious woman rescues him, he is offered the possibility of redemption in a film that reimagines the familiar folklore as a brooding historical drama. Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe also star.

(10) EVIL DEAD BURN

Rounding out the week is Evil Dead Burn, which remains in the Top 10.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!

And that is all she wrote for this week’s top ten chart. On the PVOD front this week, there’s a choice of four new releases. For the period drama fans, there’s Sense And Sensibility. Drama fans can sit back and enjoy Pressure. And for those action fans among you, there’s Runner and The Dog Stars. These are available on your preferred digital platform, so they are waiting for you to rent or buy now. Can any of them crash into the chart next week and steal the top spot? You know what to do. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
