The director took to social media to commemorate his first day of shooting
Although filming is well underway, The Batman director, Matt Reeves has been uncharacteristically quiet on social media. Until now, Reeves has been extremely active, especially on twitter where he has updated his followers with every addition to his wonderful cast. But, with his slate filling up by the day, the director has been understandably preoccupied.

Until now.
Last night Reeves returned to social media to confirm that shooting on The Batman had officially begun and marked the day with an image featuring a clapperboard sat atop a rather luxurious leather chair. A prop from Wayne Manor perhaps? Check it out:

Reeves has cast Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Gotham City crimelord Carmine Falcone and recently, Colin Farrell was confirmed to be joining the cast as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. In addition to his fabulous cast list for The Batman, Reeves has appointed another long-time collaborator in Michael Giacchino to compose the score for the movie.

The Batman is expected to swoop into cinemas in June 25th 2021.
