Steve Carrell returns to voice Gru as he and the Minions return in the Illumination animated sequel, Despicable Me 4. Coming this July!
Gru is back! And this time, he’s got his son with him! Illumination will be bringing us Despicable Me 4 in July. The franchise’s sixth movie promises to deliver another hilarious animated adventure that the whole family can enjoy. Steve Carrell returns once more as the voice of the former supervillain, Gru. Also returning is Kristen Wiig as Lucy Wilde, Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom, Miranda Cosgrove as Margo, Dana Gaier as Edith, and the irreplaceable Pierre Coffin as the Minions.
Newcomers to the franchise are Will Ferrell as the villain, Maxime Le Mal, and Sofia Vergara as Valentina, Le Mal’s girlfriend. Joey King as Poppy, and Madison Polan, taking over the vocal role of Agnes from Nev Scharrel. Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, and Chris Renaud have been cast in undisclosed roles. The first trailer for the film has been released. Let’s check in on what we can expect this time around.
PREMISE
Gru (Carell), the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem. Alongside his wife and fellow Anti-Villain League agent Lucy (Wiig), their three adopted girls —Margo (Cosgrove), Edith (Gaier) and Agnes (Polan). And the newest member of the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Maxime Le Mal (Ferrell) and his girlfriend Valentina (Vergara) are after the family, forcing them to run away.
Chris Renaud directs the movie, with Patrick Delage co-directing in his feature directorial debut. Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman produce the film. Written by Mike White and Ken Daurio.
It’ll be time to get despicable again when Despicable Me 4 opens on July 3rd.
