The X-Men are back! Marvel Animation has finally unveiled the first poster and trailer for X-Men ’97 – streaming on March 20th
A new era is about to begin. After what has seemed like an eternity, Marvel Studios has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming sequel series, X-MEN ’97. The hotly anticipated new episodes will reunite fans with Wolverine, Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, Storm, and the team as they rally to defend humanity after Charles Xavier’s demise.
The series has been a long time coming, with young and old fans eager to learn what happened next. It’s just a shame it has taken over two decades to make it to the assembly line. But now, all that is about to change, and our answers will be arriving sooner than we thought. The series is coming from beneath the newly minted Marvel Animation banner and will be premiering on Disney Plus on March 20th. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. And if that isn’t enough to have us activating our mutant genes, the studio also shared the first official poster for the series. The glossy one-sheet is a true blast from the past. One that will strike a chord with collectors of Hasbro’s Marvel Legends X-MEN VHS collection. Check it out below.

SYNOPSIS
“X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.”
THE CAST
The series will revisit a classic period in X-Men history, with many of the same cast members from its original run! You heard right, the majority of the original cast are returning to reprise their roles. Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, Adrian Hough, and Christopher Britton are all back. And many will go on to voice new additions to the X-Men roster.
X-Men ’97 will also welcome several new voices to the cast, including Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie; Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio.

CREATIVES
The head writer and executive producer of X-Men ’97 is Beau DeMayo. The supervising director is Jake Castorena and the supervising producer is Charley Feldman. Also consulting on the new series are X-Men: The Animated Series producers and showrunners Eric and Julia Lewald; plus original series director Larry Houston.

RELEASE
This is wonderful news and it will be sending fans of the classic series into delirium. Myself included. Just having Cal Dodd back to voice Wolverine is enough to have me reaching for my adamantium! And with the series picking up where the original left off, legacy fans are in for a real treat. So get ready to hum the iconic theme again..and warm up the iconic “previously on X-Men” intro because this is going to be epic!
