Disney is taking a strategic approach to its upcoming Star Wars films for theatrical release. After the mixed reception to THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, the company has reevaluated its plans and is putting its support behind Jon Favreau‘s famous duo to ensure a triumphant return to the big screen.
Rumors suggest that Daisy Ridley’s “New Jedi Order” movie will be released in December 2026, followed by James Mangold’s “Dawn of the Jedi.” The latter has recently received an update, and according to THR, Beau Willimon (known for his work on “Star Wars: Andor“) will be co-writing the movie. In addition, Dave Filoni’s highly anticipated conclusion to The MandoVerse is already in advanced development. If rumors are true, Patty Jenkins’ ROGUE SQUADON movie might also be back in development. So, the future is looking brighter in the Star Wars sandbox.
