First look At Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World

Marvel has shared our first look at Harrison Ford and Anthony Mackie in Captain America: Brave New World.

Marvel has released our first look at CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD, featuring Sam Wilson as the new Captain America after Steve Rogers passed on the mantle in AVENGERS ENDGAME. The first footage from the film premiered at CinemaCon yesterday and revealed Harrison Ford’s President Ross pledging Sam his help to rebuild the Avengers.

In the footage, Isaiah Bradley (played by Carl Lumbly) attempts to assassinate Ross, along with many other sleeper agents. Luckily, Sam was there to stop the rebellion. However, it is concerning to witness the elderly Bradley resort to violence against the President of the United States. The footage climaxed with President Ross telling Sam, “You’re not Steve Rogers.” Sam responds defiantly, “You’re right, I’m not.”

NEW LOOK

Although the footage was not aired to the public, two new stills from the film have emerged. The first picture displays Ross conversing with Sam on Air Force One. The second image shows Sam Wilson wielding Captain America’s shield as he infiltrates what seems to be a clandestine facility. Check them out below.

CAST AND CREW

The film stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus’ Thunderbolt’ Ross, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Rosa Salazar, Shira Haas as Sabra, Time Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/The Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, and Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres.

RELEASE

As mentioned above, why Isaiah Bradley decides to attack the President of the United States remains to be seen. The character made a noteworthy debut in THE FALCON & THE WINTER SOLDIER and was instrumental in guiding Sam to claim the shield, so his attack seems wholly out of character. But with the franchise heading in a bold new direction, the landscape of the MCU may be about to change – especially with the X-Men waiting in the wings.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World opens in cinemas on February 14, 2025.
