Captain America: Brave New World is a thrilling mix of incredible highs and disappointing lows. Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford deliver SENSATIONAL performances, but they can't hide the Hulk-sized bumps in the road.

One new entry and five re-entries are added to the chart this week. To make way for these titles, it is a sad farewell to A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Anora, Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Marching Powder, and Kraven The Hunter. And we have a new number one once again. What could it be? Grab your shield as we find out.

CAPTAIN AMERICA STORMS TO THE TOP OF THE CHART!

Captain America: Brave New World soars to the Official Film Chart summit for the first time this week. The Julius Onah-directed 2025 superhero film, based on Marvel comics, sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) assume the title of the new Captain America, invited to the White House by President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) with a mission to reassemble the Avengers. But, with the plan thrown into chaos as Sam’s friend Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) is framed for an attempt to assassinate President Ross, Sam and his partner Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) must work together to find the true offender.

THIS WEEK, WARFARE AND A MINECRAFT MOVIE BATTLE IT OUT ON PVOD!

That’s all there is for this week, folks. However, a battle is brewing on PVOD as both Warfare and A Minecraft Movie have arrived. Both are £15.99 to rent or £19.99 to buy. I have yet to see A Minecraft Movie, so I can’t say if it’s any good. In the film, four misfits are pulled through a portal into a cubic world, and must embark on a quest back to the real world with the help of an “expert crafter” named Steve. The film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen. From what I hear, the film is a perfect family film that will keep everyone entertained over the bank holiday weekend.

I have seen Warfare, however. I can say that the film has the rare distinction of getting a five-star review from me. This isn’t family viewing over the weekend; it is strictly for adults only. It is a war film written and directed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland. Based on Mendoza’s experiences during the Iraq War as a U.S. Navy SEAL, the film depicts an encounter he and his platoon experienced on November 19, 2006, in the wake of the Battle of Ramadi. It stars an ensemble cast that includes D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Mendoza, alongside Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, Noah Centineo, and Michael Gandolfini. And I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Going Into Battle In The A24 Movie, Warfare

WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP NEXT WEEK?

Which of the pair has the better chance of taking the top spot next week? Based on its family-friendly rating, I will have to say that A Minecraft Movie is the most likely candidate. But I could be wrong. Come back next week to find out if I am. So, until then…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
