This week on The Official Chart, Bob Marley sings his way in, and Aliens declare war but Dune: Part Two won’t move from the top!

THE UK TOP TEN

The chart gets a shakeup this week. We have three new entries and two re-entries into the placings. These five titles arriving mean its farewell to Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, Argylle, Dune/Dune: Part Two Box Set, Barbie, and One Life. But what are these new and returning titles, and where have they entered the chart? Grab your Stillsuit as we find out.

DUNE: PART TWO DOESN’T SHIFT FROM THE TOP SPOT!

Dune: Part Two retains its reign over the Official Film Chart for a second consecutive week. The sci-fi blockbuster, starring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and Javier Bardem, is the highest-grossing film of 2024 so far. (Read our review here.)

BOB MARLEY BRINGS US ONE LOVE AT NUMBER TWO!

This week’s highest new entry comes from Bob Marley: One Love at Number 2. The biopic tells the story of Jamaican reggae legend Marley, played by Kingsley Ben-Adir, chronicling his rise to fame from the mid-1970s until he died in 1981. The film, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, also stars Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley and James Norton as Chris Blackwell. (Read our review here.)

IT’S NOT GAME OVER, MAN FOR ALIENS AT NUMBER THREE!

Aliens bags another brand-new entry this week at Number 3. The James Cameron-directed sci-fi horror sequel to Alien, starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of an alien attack on her ship, has been re-released on special edition DVD and 4K Blu-ray formats.

MIGRATION FLOCKS BACK INTO THE CHART!

Returning to the top ten once more is the animated film Migration, which flies up fourteen places to Number 4.

This holiday season, Illumination invites you to take flight into the thrill of the unknown with a funny, feathered family vacation like no other in the action-packed new original comedy, Migration.

THE HOLDOVERS HOLD OVER FOR ANOTHER WEEK!

The Holdovers hold over for another week, moving up two places to Number 5.

THE ORIGINAL DUNE GETS BLOWN AWAY!

With its sequel holding firm at the top, Dune: Part One gets blown away this week, drifting four places to Number 6. (Read our review here.)

OPPENHEIMER FIZZLES YET AGAIN!

The multi-award-winning Oppenheimer is fizzling out again, dropping four places to Number 7.

DO YOU WANT A LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL?

Our final new entry comes from Late Night With The Devil at Number 8. The 2023 supernatural horror, starring the likes of David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, and Ian Bliss, sees a 1977 live television broadcast take an unexpected – and unexplained – turn on the evening of Halloween.

THE EQUALIZER BLASTS BACK!

Denzel Washington’s threequel The Equalizer 3 shoots back up five places to Number 9.

WONKA HAS GONE SOUR!

Finally, Timothee Chalamet and Wonka seem to have gone sour inside the chart, dropping four places to Number 10. (Read our review here.)

WILL YOU TAKE ON A KUNG FU PANDA AGAIN?

We have come to the end of our chart journey for this week. This week’s offering on PVOD is the Dreamworks Animation sequel Kung Fu Panda 4. In the film, Po, who must find and train his successor as the new Dragon Warrior, teams up with fox bandit Zhen to defeat evil sorceress The Chameleon before she steals the kung-fu abilities of all masters in China. You can rent the film for £15.99 or buy it to keep for £19.99.
