To celebrate its 40th anniversary and the 4K re-release, check out the exclusive poster for Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, beaming down on June 14th.

Star Trek movie fans rejoice! This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. Paramount Pictures is bringing the film back to the big screen in celebration. The film is returning to screens in a 4K edition. Now, I have attended a special screening of the 4K re-release and can confirm that the film looks and sounds better than it ever has. I have never subscribed to the theory that the odd-numbered movies are weaker than the even-numbered. While it may be true for some of the movies, it isn’t the case for Star Trek III.

By now, fans will know what happens in the film. The shocks, the sadness, and the elevation by the end credits. These will never change. But what does differ is the overall look and sound of the movie. It is incredible. If you’ve only seen it on 35mm, TV, DVD, Blu-Ray or digital download, you ain’t seen nothing yet. My advice is to see it on the best screen you can, with the best sound system. Believe me, in some places, the seats shake. Not by any gadget built into the seats but by the sound mix the film has. And that brings back memories to me of seeing movies in London’s cinemas. To promote the re-release of the film, an exclusive poster has beamed itself down from the Enterprise itself.  Take a look at its splendour below:

ABOUT THE POSTER
