The Rings of Power Adds More New Additions for Season 2

Empire Magazine launches the first Character Covers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season Two.

Empire, the world’s leading entertainment magazine, has today launched its newest issue, celebrating the upcoming Season Two launch of the global hit Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power with two spectacular lenticular covers featuring Morfydd Clark as Galadriel and Charlie Vickers as Annatar – Sauron in a new form that will aid him in deceiving the denizens of Middle-earth. A third, subscriber-only cover reveals the legendary Barrow-wights, terrifying wraith-like creatures familiar to readers of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

Empire’s August issue is the ultimate guide to the greatest adventure in Middle-earth and takes readers on a unique behind-the-scenes tour of the new season, featuring never-before-seen imagery and in-depth interviews with cast and creatives alike, teasing what to expect from the return of the stunning fantasy series.

ABOUT THE ISSUES

Showcasing the cinematic splendour and breadth of landscape and signalling the return of many fan-favourite characters via interviews with Morfydd Clark. Charlie Vickers, Sophia Nomvete (Disa) and Daniel Weyman (The Stranger). As well as series creatives including showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay and director/executive producer Charlotte Brändström. This latest issue features exclusive insights into the new season ahead of its debut on Prime Video on August 29.

The eye-catching covers will also be showcased across 8K screens from 5th July at Outernet London. Located at the intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road in central London.

SERIES ONE

Season One of The Rings of Power was an unprecedented global success. And one of the top original series for Prime Video, viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide. Driving more Prime sign-ups worldwide during its launch window than any content to date.

SEASON 2

In Season Two, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. Which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season One’s epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness.

Challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Season 2 will debut on Prime Video on August 29th. The newest issue of Empire Magazine is available at newsstands now.
