A New Look At Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Emerges From The Force

Lucasfilm has shared a fresh look at the upcoming Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, emerging from the Force and will be on Disney+ this December.

Following the completion of The Acolyte, Lucasfilm is now directing its attention towards the next Star Wars project for Disney+, SKELETON CREW.  The series was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau attached as executive producers. The upcoming kid-centric Star Wars series is heading our way on December 3rd. And today, the studio (per People) is finally peeling back the veil of secrecy to give us a fresh look.

The studio has shared five new images from the series. The first image prominently features Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, with the subsequent images introducing the talented young actors set to drive the story forward. Alongside Law, the cast includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Kyriana Kratter as KB, Robert Timothy Smith as Neel, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern. Notably, the ensemble is completed by a new droid character named SM 33, voiced by Nick Frost.

THE SERIES

This series has been described as a “galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” Therefore, Star Wars fans can anticipate a story that evokes a spirit similar to THE GOONIES, albeit set in a galaxy far away. But before we get ahead of ourselves, scroll down and explore the images below.

SYNOPSIS

“When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

RELEASE

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew occurs after Return of the Jedi. The series trailer was exclusively revealed at Star Wars Celebration last year. From what we’ve seen, it promises to be truly spectacular. With a blend of new and familiar faces from the MandoVerse, this series is perfect Christmas holiday entertainment.

It’s worth noting that we’re still awaiting an official announcement from Lucasfilm about the launch details. The exact nature of the release is currently a well-kept secret. However, considering the trend of past Star Wars projects on Disney+, fans can likely anticipate a thrilling double premiere this Christmas. Mainly because previous launches have featured two episodes to kick off the excitement.

Once Skeleton Crew is underway, Future of the Force will provide weekly episode reviews and character poster coverage. Stay tuned for much more!
