Lucasfilm has shared the first trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series Skeleton Crew, which will emerge from the Force and onto Disney+ this December.
Disney’s D23 Expo is officially underway, and the big reveals are already coming thick and fast. First out of the gate is news from the Lucasfilm Pavillion. With The Acolyte now complete, Lucasfilm is focusing on the next Star Wars project for Disney+, SKELETON CREW. The series has been created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau attached as executive producers. The upcoming kid-centric Star Wars series is heading our way on December 3rd. Today, the studio shared the exciting first trailer for the series.
The first footage was showcased at Star Wars Celebration: Europe last year, with those in attendance getting a very early sneak peek at the show. But now, with the series launching this Christmas, the studio has finally pulled the trigger and unleashed new footage on the world. Check out the footage below.
THE SERIES
The series stars Jude Law as the mysterious character Jod Na Nawood. Alongside him is a group of enthusiastic new recruits, ready to propel the story forward with their fresh energy. Alongside Law, the cast includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Kyriana Kratter as KB, Robert Timothy Smith as Neel, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern. Get ready to meet the newest addition to the ensemble – SM 33, a cool droid voiced by the talented Nick Frost.

SPACE GOONIES
This series has been described as a “galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” Therefore, Star Wars fans can anticipate a story that evokes a spirit similar to THE GOONIES, albeit set in a galaxy far away.
SYNOPSIS
“When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

KEY ART
Additionally, the studio shared the first key art poster for the series featuring the characters that will carry this new series forward. As expected, Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood leads his merry band of child heroes into the adventure. Check out the key art below.

RELEASE
The first footage of the new series was unveiled last year at Star Wars Celebration: Europe. It offered a promising and truly spectacular glimpse into what’s to come. The show features a mix of familiar and new MandoVerse characters. Therefore, this diverse cast of characters makes the show the perfect holiday entertainment for Christmas. Fans can now look forward to a thrilling double-episode premiere during the festive season. So, what better time to gather around the Christmas tree and delve into this new series?

Once Skeleton Crew is underway, Future of the Force will provide weekly episode reviews and character poster coverage. Stay tuned for much more!
