Marvel Studios hits Disney D23 Expo with a double blow, courtesy of Captain America: Brave New World and Daredevil: Born Again!
It wouldn’t be a proper Disney D23 Expo if there wasn’t anything from Marvel Studios. Everyone who gathers for the event expects Marvel to drop something exciting, no matter how small. This year is no exception. While the reveals weren’t up to the San Diego Comic-Con heights, a nice double blow hit the audience between the eyes. Anthony Mackie appeared on stage to speak about the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World while the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again also got a mention. New trailers and footage were shown at the event but at this time, it has not been officially posted online.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD
Anthony Mackie and Kevin Feige got the ball rolling with the Marvel Studios section of the event. A clip was shown to those assembled which Mackie claimed “Feige put this together on his iPad. In the plane!”. The clip from the film showed Harrison Ford’s President Thunderbolt Ross. He was seen giving a speech on Adamantium being harvested from the Celestial.
The audience also got to see Ford as the Red Hulk. Facing the camera for the first time, revealing his full look as he transforms outside the White House. The synopsis of the new movie is:
Sam Wilson finds himself at the center of an international incident and must work to stop the true brains behind it.
DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN
While we still have to wait until March of 2025 to witness Charlie Cox’s return as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil, a few juicy tidbits have been revealed. The first regards season 2. We are on tenterhooks to see the first season of 18 episodes, divided into two 9-episode halves. That hasn’t stopped Marvel from starting production on the second season. No further details were announced for season 2, only that it will start filming soon.
It was revealed that Muse will be a villain in the series and that White Tiger will also appear. Mohan Kapur also reprises his role as Yusuf Khan, Kamala Khan’s father during proceedings. While Jon Bernthal said it’s an honor to return as The Punisher in the MCU for the new series.
Kingpin and Daredevil will seemingly team up in the series to deal with a larger threat. Both will try to put their rivalry and darker alter-egos aside to help the people of New York, only for their pasts to “catch up to them”.
Captain America: Brave New World Opens on the 14th of February. Daredevil: Born Again is currently listed as premiering in March of 2025.
