Attended by Henry Selick, Chris Butler and Teri Hatcher, The 3D premiere of Coraline has taken place at the BFI Southbank in London.
Yesterday evening, Laika presented the world premiere of Coraline in a newly remastered 3D print. In partnership with the BFI Stop Motion Season. Attendees included Writer and Director Henry Selick, Storyboard Supervisor Chris Butler and a member of the voice cast in Teri Hatcher. The film will be heading back into cinemas worldwide this month to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary since its release. Selected photographs from the event can be seen in the article below.

Director and writer Henry Selick. Storyboard supervisor Chris Butler and voice cast Teri Hatcher were in attendance for a screening and Q&A on 11th August. Ahead of the beloved film’s international theatrical re-release. Marking 15 years since the film was originally released.

THE FILM
While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door. Behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there forever. Coraline must use all her resources and bravery to make it back to her own family and life.

This August, Trafalgar Releasing is partnering with LAIKA to bring CORALINE back to cinemas worldwide in remastered 3D. Fifteen years since the publication of the original novella. The 3D remastered version will showcase the craft and artistry of the pioneering storytellers at LAIKA for audiences around the world.
STOP MOTION: CELEBRATING HAND-CRAFTED ANIMATION ON THE BIG SCREEN. Supported by Headline Partner LAIKA, takes place at BFI Southbank from 1 August – 9 October. The free exhibition LAIKA: FRAME x FRAME is open from 12 August – 1 October.
