We will begin to start howling at the (Full) moon when Blumhouse’s Wolf Man howls into cinemas. Watch the new trailer here.
We will need to try and ‘Keep The Bad Things Outside’ on January 17th 2025. That is when the Blumhouse version of the classic tale will be howling into cinemas. The film, entitled Wolf Man, is a more modern and contemporary version of the material. A reboot of the black-and-white classic The Wolf Man, this new version features Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner. Jason Blum produces the movie under his Blumhouse Productions banner alongside Motel Movies.
Universal Pictures, the longtime holders of the rights to the story and movies will once again be distributing. Directing the film is Leigh Whannell from a screenplay by the writing teams of Whannell & Corbett Tuck and Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo. Once more, it is based on The Wolf Man by Curt Siodmak.
The new trailer for the film has been released. It does just enough to raise the interest levels and give the audience a good scare or two without revealing too much. As you will see, this version is set in the current day. Now, I am a stickler for Wolf Man films to be set in the past so I’m on the fence about the premise being brought into the modern day. However, from what I’ve seen so far, I am intrigued to see how it plays out. Finding out that Christopher Abbott’s character hasn’t retained the name of Lawrence “Larry” Talbot / Wolf Man, though, has slightly annoyed me. The transformation from man to Wolf Man starts here again as we take our second bite.
PREMISE
Family man Blake relocates from San Francisco to Oregon with his workaholic wife Charlotte and daughter Ginger after inheriting his childhood home, left vacant following his estranged father’s mysterious disappearance and presumed death. At the farmhouse at night during a full moon, the family is attacked by a werewolf that claws Blake’s arm. They barricade themselves inside the home, but soon Blake begins to transform into something horrifying, jeopardizing the safety of his wife and daughter.
THE NEW POSTER
In addition to the second trailer, the new poster for the film has also been revealed.
We will attempt to keep the bad things outside this January 17th when Wolf Man opens in cinemas. There’s a bad moon on the rise.
