With the new year right around the corner, Shudder is starting 2025 off with a bang. Throughout December, the horror streaming platform entertained the spooky enthusiasts among us while everyone else was busy with the usual holiday cheer. Now that we’re heading into a new year, it’s time to ramp up our horror watchlist. To kick things off, Shudder has lined up a whole bunch of exciting horror content for us to enjoy in January. And if that’s not enough to tempt you to renew your subscription, we can dive into tons of new titles coming to the already excellent horror library. So, unite cellar dwellers and join us as we unpack this tantalizing bag of tasty treats.

NEW RELEASES
Now that the fluffy festive fare has been put back into the attic for another year, it’s time to get the blood curdling again. Shudder is obliging by launching 2025 with three new titles for us to enjoy. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the end of the month to enter these depths of despair, but they’ll be worth the wait.
January is starting strong with the release of the original movie Grafted, dropping on the streamer on January 24th. You’ve come to the right place if you’re in the mood for some juicy, stomach-churning, skin-grafting horror. Especially when a Chinese scholarship student, played by 3 Body Problem’s Jess Hong, becomes addicted to body transformations. Next up is the muscled madness of the original film Dark Match on January 31st. In this chilling horror, wrestling icon Christ Jericho finds himself in the match of his life when a gig turns into a fight to the death…literally!

Chinese scholarship student Wei (Jess Hong, 3 Body Problem) travels to New Zealand to study medical research at a prestigious university. Shy, introverted, and hiding a genetic facial birthmark, Wei is shunned by her social butterfly cousin Angela and her glamorous friends. Determined to change her fate, Wei immerses herself in her late father’s research, working on a revolutionary skin grafting procedure that could cure her deformity.
