Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, best friends from Jamaica, find themselves thrust into the criminal underbelly of London’s thriving bare-knuckle boxing scene. As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who sets about exploiting his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile the menacing and self-declared emperor of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, determines to destroy Hezekiah whose ambitions to fight in the West End threaten everything he has built. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.

RELEASE
I don’t know about you, but the series looks like an absolute blast and is a shoo-in to shoot straight to the top of our winter watchlist. In fairness, anything starring Stephen Graham is always worthy of our attention. His recent role in Steve McQueen’s Blitz was a highlight of the film and added some much-needed brilliance to the WWII aesthetic. So, with Graham’s acting chops being brought to bear on the squared circle, A Thousand Blows looks like a triumph.
So, mark 21 February 2025 in your calendar because A Thousand Blows are heading your way on Disney+. Will you be tuning in for this epic showdown? Let us know in the comments below.
