Disney+ has today revealed an expanded new look at the cast of “A Thousand Blows”, the highly anticipated six-episode Original series from Steven Knight (creator of Peaky Blinders), set to premiere on February 21, 2025, on Disney+ in the UK & Ireland.
Brand-new images released today provide a first look at The Forty Elephants gang, led by Erin Doherty. In addition to further images of Malachi Kirby, Stephen Graham, Francis Lovehall and many more.
From the mind of Steven Knight, acclaimed creator of the global hit series, Peaky Blinders. A Thousand Blows S1 (6×60’) is coming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland. Hulu in the U.S. and select other countries on Disney+ in 2025. A second series, consisting of six 60-minute episodes, has finished production, and more details will be revealed soon. The series is a collaborative production between The Story Collective, Matriarch Productions, and Water & Power Productions.
PREMISE
Inspired by the true life stories of a group of characters battling for survival in the brutal East End of London in the 1880s. Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, best friends from Jamaica, find themselves thrust into the criminal underbelly of London’s thriving bare-knuckle boxing scene. As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who sets about exploiting his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile, the formidable and self-proclaimed of the End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, is resolute in his determination to annihilate Hezek, aspirations to compete in the West End pose a significant threat to everything he has established. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.
