The show is based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s iconic novel, and it’s all about the cutthroat world of independent television in 1986, with drama, excess, and shocking antics of the power-hungry social elite of 1980s England.
The show has a fantastic cast, and they’re all set to bring Cooper’s famous novel to life. Alex Hassell, David Tennant, Aidan Turner, Nafessa Williams, Katherine Parkinson, and Bella Maclean have all been cast in prominent roles. Rounding out the supporting cast are Emily Atack, Catriona Chandler, Oliver Chris, Danny Dyer, Rufus Jones, and Lisa McGrillis. Luke Pasqualino, Claire Rushbrook, and Victoria Smurfit are completing the ensemble. This series will be a big deal this winter, and it will be at the top of every fan’s wishlist.

The series stars Alex Hassell (‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’, ‘The Boys’) as the dashing ex-Olympian, Member of Parliament, and dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black, David Tennant (‘Doctor Who’, ‘Good Omens’) as Lord Tony Baddingham, Aidan Turner (‘Poldark’, ‘The Suspect’) as Declan O’Hara, Nafessa Williams (‘Black Lighting’, ‘Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody’) as Cameron Cook, Katherine Parkinson (‘Humans’, ‘Here We Go’) as Lizzie Vereker and Bella Maclean (‘Spring Awakening’, ‘Sex Education’) as Taggie O’Hara.

This is terrific news! The show is based on the second book in Cooper’s Rutshire Chronicles, a series set in the fictional English county of Rutshire. It’s going to be one of the absolute highlights of the season. The timing of the release couldn’t be better, especially with the darker autumn nights coming in. It’s great to see Disney Plus bringing us top-notch content to enjoy as the seasons change.
But let’s not forget about the next big series coming our way, Marvel Studios’ AGATHA ALL ALONG. This highly anticipated series will hit our screens later in September. With its creepy supernatural vibe, it’s the perfect show to watch during Halloween, and we’re super pumped about it. With Rivals coming out in October, Disney Plus is where it’s at this winter.
